Down to Earth Film!

Before I start saying which reviewer I agree with, I would like to add that Earth is powerful film, it represents not just the Ethnic Tension theme that went in India in 1947, but also religious tensions that still face the world today. This is becoming a serious issue worldwide which is very essential to realize and read about, or watch real situations about it that is taking place everywhere in the world recently.

After reading Earth reviews, I agree with Zaminae Ansari's review more since it talks about the partition of India after the pullout of British Colonization. She gave Deepa Mehta a credit for "bringing the screen and putting the reality all together". Ansari helped people learn clearly about the struggles of Indians politically, ethnically, and economically. Shanta and Hassan were an example of many ethnical romances struggles in different part of the world, and it is still carries on until today.

Something to add: Indian songs are one of my favorite music to listen to. I feel that there is always rythmic tunes that attract people to listen to.

I'm glad you brought up the struggle of romance between Shanta and Hasan, that intermixed marriages are difficult all over the world. Hell, any marriage can be difficult! But at least in the States, it can be easier for people to fall in love and marry people with a very different background from one's own. Even without the _overt_ political and societal consequences, though, a marriage can still be hard work.
